Cataclysm: Troll Druids – Thoughts and Speculations

Okay so Troll Druids for Cataclysm, there is no information out there other than they will get their own Moonkin forms (along with Worgens as stated from Blizzcon 09), but this Huntress wanted to get a chat started about them.
Well we know they get their own Moonkin form so does that mean that flight, travel, cat, bear, and swim form will look like Tauren Druid forms? Will Blizzard replace the Tauren horns with Troll tusks? I hope so because, 
other than their hair, a Trolls most distinctive feature is their tusks. There have been a few images floating around of what people MIGHT think Blizzard will do or just their random fun ideas as you can see in this post, as well as the title image.
Speaking of the title image – that is by far my most favorite Troll Druid idea so far. It makes sense due to Troll lore, how the Lynx is such a huge influence like all of the other gods they worship. Trolls do worship animals gods and have a close affinity to them to the point of taking on their forms but unlike the Night Elves and Tauren, I don’t see Trolls SHARING anything with the spirits of the druid beasts like the previously mentioned races. Why? Well Trolls use fetish, totems, and trinkets to store the spirits of the animals they want – they don’t share and they don’t seem to work with the spirits – so that might make the lore behind them being able to be druids a bit interesting.
Oh, some food for thought dear readers, about Troll Druid flight forms…

So does this mean that birds are completely out of the question? Trolls do enjoy bats, wind serpents, and dragonhawks so perhaps those might be possible forms? There hasn’t been any release of any information confirming any of this – just simply yours truly thinking out loud – but what you do guys think?

I’m keeping my fingers crossed for wind serpent, personally. And I hope cat form looks more like that tiger than like that silly bobcat kitten.

Aquatic Form: Ffffff… I have no idea what kind of Aquatic form they would have. Thresher?
@ TempNAme: good ideas there and I hadn’t thought of a Thresher at all. Though is that troll-ish? hehe. I can’t think of a Troll water from to be honest. I’ll have to think on that!
Definitely some interesting couple of ideas and visions that’s brought to the table, and good reading as well.
As you note yourself, I do think Blizzard will go a bit further with the creations of the druid forms for the trolls. But they will surely not be going to far. Thinking of aquatic form, how about something snakish. Trehser is a bit to far from what I think they will end up with. I think they’ll end with creating an entirely new creature for the aquatic form or stick with a furry-sealion-tiger thing. No matter what, I’ll keep on the look out for more information.

i think trolls should have the bobcat, wind serpent, bear (duh), and a croc for swim form ^_^ idk how they’re gonna make the bear look tho…
I absolutely love the tiger form. Trolls are from the jungle and so are tigers so its only fitting. As for the bear form….not so trollish….so how about large boars? They’ve already got the tusks. For flying, I’m not sure, but the windserpents are a good idea, considering the troll deities. And as for the swimmers, I too think threshers are a bit much. I do like the crocs idea. Maybe a large version of the piranhas skin.
Though I don’t intend on rolling a Troll druid I, personally, think the tiger rendering looks a bit stupid. Someone just took an in-game tiger, stuck a silly looking mohawk on it with tusks and a tail tuft. Granted Trolls do have “tribal” hair but I like the bob-cat render better. Maybe if Blizz goes that route with the Troll cat form then yes the face is kinda “cutesy” but it’s an artists rendering, that can be changed. Narrow and/or lengthening the muzzle would solve the problem since short wide muzzles tend to convey a sense of “awww that’s cute.” Also the tusks seem a bit bulky for the mouth size. But overall I like the bob-cat better than the silly looking tiger. Just my opinion though ^_^.
ok i know taht everyone thinkks that the tinger is cool and yes tigers are cool. but bobcats are aswell so i suggest that u take both of them and put them togther, somthing mean but sexy looking. if i get the time ill draw somthings up and send them your way…
I love the idea of a windserpent as the flight form, and I was thinking maybe a hydra model for aquatic form.
I enjoy all of your ideas and thoughts – all I can say is I hope that Blizzard makes it cool! (though I do have preferences to Wind Serpents even if Trolls don’t like them)
i say a mix of tiger and bobcat as well for cat form and how about a sexy scorpion thingy for tanking ? wouldnt that b awesome ? although i like the idea of the board since they alrdy got the tusk but i was talking with my friend a bit earlier and i came up with scorpion since they have armor and shit ( he would like to see troll have crabe form for tanking) i was like w8 no !! XD and… i rly like the wind serpent idea about flying form
I think the windserpent is a killer idea… but the rest like this
cat: a large lynx/bobcat type thing
tanking: gorilla? (which is from the jungle obviously)
flight form: windserpent
aquatic: piranha/barracuda-like large fish
casting(dps): furblog
casting(heal): regular tree form with teal bark and orange leaves.
These were quick thoughts, but I think they would be pretty cool myself…

Flight: bat
Aquatic: shark
travel: serpant
Moonkin: furbolg
tree of life: bamboo tree
