Blue posted this little gem and well this Huntress isn’t sure it’s confirmed.  I can hear you say ‘But NightSkye,  BLUE posted it!’  That’s true but I also take into consideration it’s on PTR and as we’ve seen before that just because it’s on PTR doesn’t mean it makes it to the final build.  I am in no way ‘dissing’ Blizzard but I was upset when the little shark pet didn’t make it to final build or the other new vanity pets like the core hound or Lil’K.T.

Barrens Red Raptor Nest

Okay so back to the post!  Baby raptors are NOT going to drop from their Rare Elite Spawn mommies and daddies but instead will spawn in named nests.  Will they look like the image I have posted like the colored nests from the Barrens colored raptor nests?  Or will they be something completely different?  Blue also posted that while they will be from spawned from nests the nests themselves will also be spawned.  As far as the timer on those nests I would think that they might follow the same timer as their named counterparts.

Though, now that I think about it, perhaps Blizzard is using the nests because it’s ‘too easy’ to get a raptor baby?  I always see a hatchling on the Auction House so maybe the wanted it to be a bit harder for collectors to obtain.  Oh, the Hatchlings that would be affected by this change are the:

• Leaping Hatchling – drops from Takk the Leaper from the Barrens.
• Darting Hatchling – drops from Dart from Dustwallow Marsh.
• Razormaw Hatchling – drops from Razormaw Matriarch in the Wetlands.
• Ravasaur Hatchling – drops from Ravasaur Matriarch from Un’goro Crater.

So I saw, dear players and collectors, that if this new change does make it to the live build – until more information is released – start farming! (that way, in case it becomes harder to get a Hatchling – you’ll have a head start).

Patch 3.3 PTR: New Tauren Skins?!

Patch 3.3 PTR – NOT a confirmed release but data mined!

Yes, you read right my dear readers and if any of you are Tauren fans (ooooh I am, pick me!) then this will fluster you all the more about those lovable cows!

Thanks to Handclaw from the Scrolls of Lore forums who uncovered the Tauren Skins from the data files from the PTR for Patch 3.3.  I was looking through the Internet for new and exciting things and I came across this!  I was so excited I knew I had to post about it.  There wasn’t much data about it but I have a few ideas and wondered what you thought about them.

First idea: Cataclysm’s new character customization (namely tattoos), well, perhaps a test for it.  Wouldn’t it be amazing if players could have such a customization for their favorite Tauren?  There have been NPC’s with tattoos in game, the Wolfcult of Grizzly Hills, so it could be just an NPC test really but it is a fun idea to think about.  My Tauren Huntress is smiling right now, I can tell.  True most might see this as simply an RPer’s dream, perhaps, but as a raider I’m still VERY excited about the idea.  Finding this out I don’t really want to wait for Cataclysm IF it were to happen…

Second idea: Another Cataclysm feature, the introduction of Sunwalkers.  Yes, that is an amazing name just like the idea of Plain striding was for Taurens back in vanilla World of Warcraft (I’ll give a cookie to anyone who can tell me what Plain Striding is!).  The Sunwalkers are the the new race/class combos that Tauren can have when the expansion hits: Paladins and Priests.  Blue stated the name so there is a good amount of truth in it but it was not stated as absolute so keep your fingers crossed!  Perhaps it’s tattoos or war paint to show their class devotion?

Final idea: These could be Grimtotems (as indicated by their black fur) and as we all know, Grimtotems are the ‘rogue’ tribe of Taurens in World of Warcraft.  Rumors have stated that Garrosh was to kill Cairne Bloodhoof when Cataclysm hit (though now it seems he MIGHT be moving that up since Cairnes son Baine Bloodhoof might be ‘taking over’ in Patch 3.3) and once Cairne ‘left’, Orgrimmar would be only allowing Orc and Tauren in.  Why is that?  Well, you all remember Magatha Grimtotem in Thunder Bluff?  There have been a few quests that suggest that she is NOT what she seems…or her tribe.  With that in mind can you imagine what Garrosh would look like if he wished to rise to power with war painted Grimtotems at his side?  It would explain why just Tauren and Orcs allowed in the captial city, true, but think about how that would shake the Tauren lore!  IF,  I can’t put enough emphasis on IF, that were to be true it would completely throw the Tauren into chaos.

So, digest all of this my fellow players, and toss around your thoughts.

Patch 3.3: Lady Sylvanas

One of the two major players in the upcoming Patch 3.3 5 man instance, Icecrown Citadel: The Frozen Halls, Lady Sylvanas will lead the Horde against The Lich King.

Lady Sylvanas has a complex history when it comes to her living life and her undead life.  A High Elf ranger with two other sisters, Alleria and Vereesa (who married Rhonin), and could not protect her family and homeland against the Scourge Invasion.  Arthas, before fully becoming The Lich King, was so taken with Sylvanas’ fighting spirit he decided to break her and to keep that type of personality at his side.  Within seconds of her death, by Artha’s hands, he resurrected her into a Banshee.  Day after day Arthas ‘tortured’ her until finally, long story short, she was able to take her revenge – or so she thought.

Once breaking free of Arthas hold she became the Queen we know today but all these years she has been plotting her revenge against Arthas, now The Lich King, waiting until the moment was right.  Now that The Frozen Halls are opening up, she is determined to meet face to face with her most despised enemy.  Rumor and MINOR confirmations have shown us that Lady Sylvanas will have the destiny she believes is close at hand but will it come true?

1. Will Sylvanas get to have her revenge?  Seems not – SOMEONE might just ‘sacrifice’ herself in The Lich Kings stead.
2. Will Sylvanas STILL take her revenge? Unknown.
3. What will happen to the relationship between the Horde and Alliance if Sylvanas’ revenge is taken from her? Unknown – I think it will stress the already strained relationship.

So there you have it, is our Queen of the Forsaken going to to be set up for a fall or will she finally have what she believes is ‘due’?  As one of my favorite NPC characters I hope that she does get her revenge for what Arthas made her but do I think it’s going to happen?  Only time will tell…
