Hayden Hawke's Secret Gold Guide

Do a quick search for gold guides and you’ll find dozens of options. Here’s the problem, though. Gold gathering strategies get out of date really fast. The top selling guide one minute might be completely out of date and useless the next.

So, when you choose a gold guide, you need to find one that stays updated whenever a new patch is released, providing instant information about gold gathering strategies. For example, your guide should have told you about the Titansteel cooldown drop before 3.3 and the Titanium Prospecting change in 3.2. These are huge gold making opportunities and if your guide doesn’t update, what’s the point.

Okay, so that brings us to Hayden Hawke’s Gold Guide. I’ve chosen to only review one gold guide on the site because I personally think most of them are awful. It’s usually pretty easy to tell when they get left to wither and die. Just scroll down and look for their “updated for Patch XX” logo. They all have one. Except most of them say Ulduar, or Trial of the Crusader.

Hayden’s guide is updated for 3.3.5 and she stays on top of all the new updates as they become available, every month or two.

What Hayden’s Doing in Her Guide

To start with, this is a big guide. We’re talking hundreds of pages, dozens of chapters, and over 100 different screenshots and maps. That’s a ton of info, and she doesn’t seem to like making people wade through pointless filler (like the rest), so most of that is actual, hard gold strategy.

She makes claims of up to 1,000 gold an hour, and I can attest that it is possible (though maybe not all the time). Nonetheless, you’ll be making solid gold – well over the 300 or 400 that most guides promise on a regular basis.

Combine that with sound auction house strategies and you could actually be on your way to the gold cap – something I hope to see someday myself. Hayden also promises one of the only guides with 24/7 email support – a nice feature I would like to see all WoW guides toss in.

The Bottom Line

I can only find one thing to complain about with Hayden Hawke’s Gold Guide – that she doesn’t go into more depth about the auction house aspects of the game. There are a few strategies out there right now that are turning up massive returns (albeit after a ton of initial investment), that she could probably do wonders with.

Other than that, Hayden Hawke’s Gold Guide is the clear and obvious best option out there. It’s fresh, it’s regularly updated, and it’s loaded with tons of interesting details that will keep you farming for weeks to come.
