Cataclysm: It’s The End Of The World As We Know It

If you would, please allow me to wax philosophic, just for a few paragraphs.

I, along with my family, have just had an ever-so-thrilling first-hand experience of the economic downfall – the house we were renting was foreclosed on, sending us scrambling to find a new roof.  Spending just over a month living out of boxes and couch surfing with friends and relatives (not as fun as you‘d think), with no real place to call home, gave me a lot of time to think about a lot of things, including Cataclysm and the upheaval that will be happening to Azeroth. … Continue Reading

Cataclysm: Updated Worgen Models and More

Cataclysm: Updated Worgen Models and More

In Betas current build, 12539, there seems to be a few models that have been revamped.  Here are the before (first image) and after (second image) mug shots of a Male Worgen:

I thought the Male Worgens look awesome to begin with but now?  Wow…just wow.  They look so much more feral, as they should, and I feel rather bad that we have to put armor on them because it would be awesome to play with them just as the image is.  I hope with my all my heart, as does my partner, that the Female Worgens look this amazing.   So onward with hot looking wolf girls who look like wolves!  Another model to be updated with the King of the Forest himself, Cenarius.

So will the already existing player models get a revamp?  Well Blizzard states they would like to do that but it will take time….lots of time.

Updated Player Models
We definitely want to do it. Our artists would love to – believe me. The worgen and goblin took an enormous amount of art and animation time for Cataclysm. It’s definitely on the list though. We recognize the problem with old models in shiny new armor.”
-Blizzard.

That’s fine with me because if my Female Tauren looks as hot as the new Male Worgen I am all for it.  I really hope that when Blizzard DOES update the models they are so wonderfully unique.

Another aspect of the update to look into is the new Spell Difference list for ALL the classes posted  by Blizzard.  I would post it here for you to read and find your class but the amount of text is mind blowing hehe but make sure you check it out!   On a final note to all the raiders out there, Icecrown Citadel’s Buff has now increased to 30% – good or bad?  Not sure but onward to the trek!

Happy Hunting!

Cataclysm: Guild Level and Reward Chart

Cataclysm: Guild Level and Reward Chart

Blizzard released today the break down of the Guild Level/Reward system for us to see what we’ll be working towards.  I, for one, and excited about all 25 levels!  While I am a bit sad about Blizzard removing some of the function of the Guild Level/Rewards (read here for the original post) I am ‘okay’ with what they have to offer us.  So take a look below at the chart (thanks to MMO-champion.com) and let me know what you think!

Level * Spell Description
1 Fast Track (Rank 1) Experience gained from killing monsters and completing quests increased by 5%.
2 Mount Up Increases speed while mounted by 5%. Not active in Battlegrounds or Arenas.
3 Mr. Popularity (Rank 1) Reputation gained from killing monsters and completing quests increased by 5%.
4 Cash Flow (Rank 1) Each time you loot money from an enemy, an extra 5% money is generated and deposited directly into your guild bank.
5 Fast Track (Rank 2) Experience gained from killing monsters and completing quests increased by 10%.
6 Reinforce (Rank 1) Items take 5% less durability loss when you die.
7 Hasty Hearth Reduces the cooldown on your Hearthstone by 15 minutes.
8 Reinforce (Rank 2) Items take 10% less durability loss when you die.
9 Chug-A-Lug (Rank 1) The duration of buffs from all guild cauldrons and feasts is increased by 50%.
10 Mobile Banking Summons your guild bank. Instant, 1 hr cooldown
11 Mr. Popularity (Rank 2) Reputation gained from killing monsters and completing quests increased by 10%.
12 Honorable Mention (Rank 1) Increases Honor points gained by 5%.
13 Working Overtime Increases the chance to gain a skill increase on tradeskills by 10%.
14 The Quick and the Dead Increases health and mana gained when resurrected by a guild member by 50% and increases movement speed while dead by 100%. Does not function in combat or while in a Battleground or Arena.
15 Cash Flow (Rank 2) Each time you loot money from an enemy, an extra 10% money is generated and deposited directly into your guild bank.
16 Guild Mail In-game mail sent between guild members now arrives instantly.
17 Everyone’s A Hero (Rank 1) Increases Heroism points gained by 5%.
18 Honorable Mention (Rank 2) Increases Honor points gained by 10%.
19 Happy Hour Increases the number of flasks gained from using a flask cauldron by 100%.
20 Have Group, Will Travel Summons all raid or party members to the caster’s current location. Unlimited range, 6 sec cast / Channeled, 2 hr cooldown
21 Chug-A-Lug (Rank 2) The duration of buffs from all guild cauldrons and feasts is increased by 100%.
22 Bountiful Bags Increases the quantity of materials gained from Mining, Skinning, Herbalism, and Disenchanting by 15%.
23 Bartering Reduces the price of items from all vendors by 5%.
24 Everyone’s A Hero (Rank 2) Increases Heroism points gained by 10%.
25 Mass Resurrection Brings all dead party and raid members back to life with 35 health and 35 mana. Cannot be cast when in combat. 64% of base mana, Unlimited range, 10 sec cast

After looking at the list available of unlock-able rewards it makes me want to be able to hurry up and gain guild experience through PvP, Raid/Dungeon Progression, Questing, Profession Training, etc.

As you know guild currency was removed to be able to purchase the reward once the level or guild achievement was reached, instead guild members will be able to purchase the reward with gold.  The rewards include but aren’t limited to:

  • Guild Tabards
  • Mounts
  • Heirlooms
  • Guild Tabard for your mount

I was worried that new members would be able to enter the guild and have access to all the rewards that the guild had worked so hard to achieve.  Well, thankfully, that won’t be the case.  Guilds will have a reputation bar and as a guild member contributes to the progression of the guild, that reputation will increase.  The higher the reputation earned the better the rewards.

Happy Hunting!
