Zygor’s Leveling Guide Review

Zygor's Leveling Guide

Zygor's Leveling Guide

If you ask anyone out there right now what leveling guide they would choose, you’d either here “none!” or “Zygor’s”. While in the past there were dozens of options for leveling guides, recently Zygor has upped the ante with a few new features and taken over the market.

So, for those of you who haven’t used a guide before, what exactly is the point and is it worth the investment? Let’s take a closer look.

What Zygor’s Leveling Guide Does

Zygor’s Leveling guide is built on an add-on – a simple UI adjustment that keeps track of your quests and shows you where to go as you level up. When you first install the add-on, it will scan your quest log and your completed quests to place you in the right spot.

Most of the time, it’s dead on accurate. If not, it only takes a second to adjust the calibration. After that, Zygor’s add-on will keep track of everything you do. You could have twenty quests in your log and the add-on will keep a close eye on which one to complete first and where to go next. No more running back and forth, even for the smallest of quests.

The coolest part is that it all works in tandem with Blizzard’s recent map upgrades. Yeah, you can figure out where you’re going with the Blizzard maps, but do those maps offer tips, exact coordinates, or completion orders that make sense? Not so much. That’s where Zygor picks up the slack.

Another cool thing about Zygor’s guide is that it doesn’t require any other add-ons. Some other guides ask for additional installations that eat memory. Zygor’s loads it all from its own files and the memory usage is actually pretty low.

Plus there are bonuses. You get a talent selection advisor, daily quest outlines, and constant updates. These guys have actually created their own proprietary software for in-game leveling and it works really well now.

The Future of the Guide

The big question for a lot of people is whether Zygor’s guide will be worth anything after Cataclysm hits and the old world is flipped upside down. I can’t speak for the 4.0 update, but when Wrath hit, Zygor was one of the first guides to update – a lot of the content available on day one of the new expansion.

Of course, when it comes to in-game questing guides, there is always the risk that you’ll miss the content. Don’t expect to read all of the quests or to actually hit those top level times with the add-on – at least not the first time through.

It’s a bit impersonal and can take some of the fun out of early game content. But, if your goal is to get those characters to 80 as fast as possible, you won’t find a better leveling guide – there simply isn’t one. So, get over to Zygor’s leveling guide and check it out. If nothing else, you can download a free trial of Levels 1-13 in the guide right off the bat.
